A rural base near Romsey, with heating and Wi-Fi.

For two adults and two children under 12, with seating that converts into a double bed and two small bunks. The double bed can be made up before arrival on request.

An ensuite shower with hot water on demand and a small kitchenette with a hob and microwave. Linen, towels, tea, coffee pods and milk are supplied.

The hut is a private, comfortable base for exploring the local area.

The hut is beside an active railway line, and you will hear passing trains. Please consider this before booking if noise is likely to disturb your sleep.

Your own outdoor space

Guests have exclusive use of the bottom garden beside the hut, with a private patio, outdoor sofa, two-person swing chair, bistro set and fire pit. We provide the logs and everything you need to get the fire going. Parking for two cars is right beside the hut.

Things to do near Kimbridge

Plan a wedding stay, a family day out or time exploring the Test Valley and New Forest.

Kimbridge Barn wedding guests

Kimbridge Barn is across the road, within walking distance of the hut. Allow for crossing the road and bring a torch for the walk back after dark. Ask us about the walking route before your stay.

Check-in starts at 16:00, so plan your arrival around the wedding timetable. The Barn serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea; check its current menus and book ahead.

Peppa Pig World and family days out

Peppa Pig World is part of Paultons Park at Ower. For journey planning, Google Maps estimates about 15 minutes by car from Kimbridge Barn, across the road from the hut. Allow extra time for traffic and check the route before travelling.

Back at the hut, there is room for two adults and two children under 12, with two small bunks, a double bed made up on request, and an exclusive garden area. Cooking is limited to a small hob and microwave. For a meal out, the nearby Bear & Ragged Staff has a children’s menu.

The Test Way and River Test

The hut is on the Test Way, near the River Test. Hampshire County Council’s Mottisfont-to-Romsey route guide is a useful starting point for planning a walk through this part of the valley.

Follow public paths and respect private riverbanks. Please arrange any fishing access and fishing permissions separately with a provider; they are not included with the accommodation.

Romsey and the New Forest

In Romsey, visit the Norman architecture and gardens of Romsey Abbey, or check its concert and recital programme before your trip.

For a New Forest day out, Bolderwood offers waymarked woodland walks and picnic areas. Check Forestry England’s current visitor information and trail notices when planning your visit.

Your hosts, Iain and Tor

We live about 50 metres from the hut. We enjoy meeting guests and sharing local tips, but are equally happy to leave you to enjoy your stay in privacy. You may also meet our two friendly dogs, Beetle and Jarvis, and our cat, Booster, who all live here with us.
